Peacefully on December 18, 2018, Mary Halayko died at the Charles LeMoyne Hospital in Montreal Mary is predeceased by her husband Gustave, brother Mike (Joan) and niece Laurie. She will be sadly missed by her sister Anne Vail and lovingly remembered by all of her nieces, nephews, friends and extended family in Montreal. Mary was a passionate and dedicated French teacher in the Hamilton Wentworth schoolboard for over 20 years and it was shortly after that she reconnected and married her first love Gustave. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 1919 King Street East, on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 1 - 4 pm.
